Black History Month Program

The NAACP Kansas City, Missouri Branch will host its Annual Black History Program on Sunday, February 23, 2020 3:00 PM at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center 3700 Blue Parkway Kansas City, Missouri.  The program theme is, African Americans and The Vote.  Edith Haney-Galvin a local activist will give a presentation on Getting Out the Vote in the 1960’s in Kansas City to the present.  A presentation of the Constitutional History surrounding the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments and the Right to Vote will be presented by Jailah Otto.  Carl Boyd will serve as the Master of Ceremony.  The program is free and open to the public.  Rev. Dr. Rodney E. Williams is branch president; refreshments will be served following the program.
